2012 Iowa Caucus Results

Romney, Santorum, Ron Paul

The predominantly white and historically socially conservative Iowans betrayed a lack of understanding of the real factors affecting them and the world when 25% of them voted for Rick Santorum. A xenophobic product of Bush-Cheney policy, Santorum’s principal stances continue the shoot-first-ask-questions-later policies that have bankrupted America, economically and morally. Another quarter of the voters admitted they were stumped; by voting for Romney, whose charismatic glint overshadows his shifting and unclear policy stances. Ron Paul, the most refreshingly consistent of the bunch, made a sizeable jump from his 2008 results (10% to 21%) showing an increasing percentage of the population is fed up with status quo politics. All of this hardly matters, however, if the 2008 Iowa caucus results are any indication. Then, John McCain came in fourth with 13% of the vote – the same result as this year’s white-haired senior media darling, Newt Gingrich. Perry and Bachmann are, thankfully, dead in the water. May they make a graceful exit.
